A CLOCK’S DREAM Directed by: Costas Chrysanthou Produced by: Costas Chrysanthou Cinematography by: Robert W. Gardner Production& Costume Design: Sophia Katsoura A Clock’s Dream is a short film about an alienated couple who tries to get closer to one another through their dreams.
The film has three main sets, a bedroom, a “pendulum” room and a ballroom, all built in studio. The pendulum room and the ballroom belong to the dream world of the film: the first is the set of a nightmare whereas the second, coming consecutively, is the set of a fascinating dream. Pure minimalism characterizes both sets combined with surrealistic elements. I used the same colour palette of cool tones, intentionally, in both the bedroom and the “pendulum” room so as to “relate” the nightmare to reality in the first place and secondly to reinforce the contrast between these rooms and the ballroom. 15 mins, Short Film,35mm |
