Scuppered is a fiction film about the story of four men, who take refuge in a boat after a dis-engagement party. They wake up adrift in the North Sea. With no communication and a boat completely unsea-worthy the men resort to using their ever increasing imagination to keep themselves amused whilst waiting to be rescued. If they ever do get rescued…
As regards the design, the main studio set of the film was the interior of a boat. The boat was painted it in such a way in order that it could look rough, shabby and “claustrophobic”. Since the size of the boat should had to match the size of the actual boat which was tiny, the sidewalls and the ceiling were movable so that the director and the D.O.P had flexibility for the shots.
